Devil's Merciful
[ Info: I had this new little idea blossoming from my mind the other week, and I guess that from time to time I need a break from all the novel-writing I do. So I tried out this little bit for a character from a dream idea I had a couple months ago. It is about a man who sold his soul for immortality (though he is much unlike the immortals in Antediluvian). This one-shot piece is focused on him and making his annual confession in a tavern after getting "killed". I have to say it was rather interesting and kind of a fun piece. And worry not, this is another expansive idea I have for a longer story...someday.
Mostly I have to say this was inspired by Murder By Death.
Oh, and just so that you know it takes place in a western, nineteenth century setting, in case if you cannot tell just by reading it. I wanted to try something a little different for a change. Enjoy. ]

Dreams of Glass and Velvet
[ Info: A Seraphim Ascent prequel. The development of the Seraphim Project give birth to a "jade vessel"--a being created to live, fight, and die. She is a child birthed from war, and she will ride the chariot unto the next world in different bodies. The price you pay when you fall in love with a weapon is a high one. "What angels, both she and I."
(Note: Not exactly my best piece. It showed up better in my head than it did on paper. I may end up writing another one like this to make up for its lack of good quality.) ]

Excellia Rush
[ Info: An Antediluvian prequel. This is a narrative following a day in Alexander Ravencrow's life as an Ophelian, as he witnesses the horrors of the drug called Excellia Rush, and the disgusting entertainment in the darkest pits of Ophelian City.
(Note: This story takes place before things went to Hell for him--he's about sixteen or seventeen, though it's never really mentioned. I have to say that for a short story, I ended up quite satisfied with this. I may end up writing more dark adventures of Ophelian City someday.) ]

Perchance, To Dream
[ Info: A prequel to JUST. Takes place in 1983.
William Blue never dreams. He is almost like a walking corpse. But when he loses his wife and sons in a tragic freak accident during a storm, he decides to seclude himself from society and live for awhile in a cabin in the forest. But eventually, solitude consumes him, as does the nightmares which follow the demise of his family. More and more William Blue is plunged down the spiral of insanity that devours him every night. ]

A Jekyll And Hyde Complex
[ Info: This was actually a test run after working so much on my novels. I had just finished Kataraktmond and done a few chapters of the re-written version of Seraphim Ascent. Needless to say, I needed a break. But, this is me we're talking about. I never take breaks. To me, writing short stories is a break.
I've had the Straye and Algernon characters for a few years. I role played with them for a while, but then they just faded into the darkness when I started getting busy with my other works. For some reason Algernon came into my head recently, nostalgia set in, and I decided to write a short story about them.
One of these days I may get around to writing a full novel based on these two characters, but for the time being it's just going to be a short novelette.]

Diary For A Moderately Sane Man
[ Info: An Antediluvian spin-off.
Somehow after Volume I, Alexander Ravencrow gets caught up in the Delial Park Facility with hardly any remembrance of the previous months. Tumble down with him as he plummets deeper into his own insanity as he tries to discover himself through the means of words.
A novella written as Alexander's journal, with thirty entries in all. ]

Yet another addition to the Antediluvian prequels, concerning the origins of Reene Kuan and her relationship with Alexander. She is half. ]

[ Info: An Antediluvian prequel, as well as the beginning of Vincent's origins. No real spoilers for the story itself.
He was found on the fields of autumn. When the seventeenth century colonial Ashtown decides to take him under their wing, this man with no past and no sense of "self" begins to gradually accept his new life, no matter who he was before that. However, eventually his past begins catching up with him when things start to change for the worst after eight years, and this man neither changes in age nor dies. He should be dead, but he is still alive. He shouldn't exist, but he's existing still.
And he'll be back again, and again and again and again and again. ]
