Seraphim Ascent
Ragnarök
is imminent.
Mithgarthr used to be a safe, quiet place--a peaceful city that knew no war,
until one year war came to it. Now, it is nothing but ruins, leaving behind a
generation of those who find forgetting easier said than done. This was the
effect of the Long Winter, a war that caused much destruction and terrorism
throughout the world. But then mysterious treaties broke out, and no one knew
why, but by then no one cared. The war was soon over after enduring mindless
bloodshed for so long. But long after the war had ended, the bloodshed
continued, this time by a more menacing force.
Eighteen years later.
It is hard to trust yourself when you don't even have any idea who you are. And
in a world of two-faced, untrustworthy people, it's harder to find an honest
friend than you'd think. For Rei Emiko, she finds herself just realizing this.
She has awoken from an eighteen year coma with only scattered memories and a
bedlam reality of ignorance and suffering. Lucky for her, she happens to
stumble upon a likely friend in her confusion.
Enid Hawthorne has had her share of pain and suffering. She had seen plenty of
people die. This was why she's a member of Bellum, a group bent on
investigating and exterminating a new force of malice and bloodshed. This force
is given many names: Creatures of distortion, evolution gone wrong. Some
believe that the war had something to do with them--that these mutations were
made to fight in the Long Winter. Bellum believes different.
Rei has a hard time understanding people, yet she has learned enough about them
to know that many only work to their own personal gain. Far as Rei is
concerned, she has no problem with this, until she finds herself being hunted
by a dangerous force.
That force is a private organization that has apparently been watching Rei
Emiko for quite some time. They call themselves Heimdall.
In the disarray of questions and theories, only one thing is certain: The
answers lie in the ashes of the Mithgarthr ruins. Somehow, Rei knows this, and
so she pursues with her instincts and unlikely allies.
A
song hums in the voice, and messages buzz through the wires, watching,
listening, heeding, always.... The messages speak of one thing: Ragnarök is
imminent.

I am finally working
on editing this story again. Between this and "Kataraktmond", I
decided I would stick with a few stories to edit for the time being.
...I have a lot of work to do. It exhausts me just thinking about it.

Now if you will excuse me, I have to go do the same for my other two novels so
people won't pass by thinking, "Wow, this sounds lame." Der Sigh.
I am also working on developing some background information on some of the
organizations involved in the story. Fun stuff.

Anyway, there's been
a huge update in the STORY
section. All of Act I has been successfully uploaded for viewing displeasures.
If you do take the time to read it, I deplore of you: Please, please, please
leave behind some feedback. Even if you're a complete stranger.... I'd still
value your opinion, be it constructive criticism, hollow praise, suggestions--I
am open and ready for anything. That's why it's there.

If you couldn't tell
already, I gave just about all my sites makeovers, especially my writing ones.
They now have their own individual style and look to them that I see more
fitting. I'd have to say that this one is probably my favorite.
In any case, I've got
Act I of "Seraphim Ascent" up right now. To be honest, I had
completely overlooked the fact that I got some actual comments in my guestbook.
It was a pleasant surprise, to say the least. Needless to say, keep them
coming. I want to know who's been reading my stuff and what they think of it.
You may not think it, but your opinion matters to me.
Uh, yes. I probably
should finish with the character profiles here, shouldn't I?
